March Madness
Faces, Day 15: "Caesar"

11" x 14" Pastel on Canson Paper

Julius Caesar might have been  appropriate for the ides of March, but perhaps Nero would have been better for the entire theme of "March Madness". However, a search for Nero yielded a bevy of uninspired sculptures executed by artists subtly expressing  their displeasure with their emperor. So we settled on Julius and present this sketch for the 15th day.  We're only sorry we missed our opportunity to execute the portrait in burnt sienna and cadmium orange. Nudge.
